Colorful pieces

Haven't been doing much sewing lately (hence the lack of blog posts), but i did manage to squeeze in this dress and jumper.
with this dress i just wanted something colorful and fun, I cut strips of fabric and sewed them together. I think it came out good. i still have to hem the bottom but i just wanted to take pics. :)

The back has little pleats and then a black zipper to keep it snug. I usually don't do strapless because i hate when it slides down and flashing the whole neighborhood.... hmm not my thing. lol

I also made this jumper. I found this fabric at 'Angel View' Its a 2nd hand store kind of like A Goodwill. I LOVE that store i find all kinds of goodies in there regularly. There was about 3 yards of fabric and it was $2.99. I think the tag said it was Rayon fabric... Score right??!

I have been wanting to try my hand at making wide leg pants. and i also wanted a jumper. so why not combine it? So this is my first try at it and i think i did pretty good. the pants legs are a little long because i want the shoe covered when i wear heels with them. :) I had to make darts in the waist area because its a little big.
I get so excited when i make things i just want to share with everyone.
yayyy meeee!! :)

Enjoy!

Reflection

I was at work sitting in the back patio and this tree just spoke to me. I took out my phone and snapped this little pretty picture. Isn't it Gorg?
Sit back and reflect on this amazing beauty :)

Happy Tuesday

Gobble Gobble and Cake Pops :)

Thanksgiving was kind of an emotional thing for me this year. I am the youngest of 3 kids. My older brother (the middle child) passed away 5 years ago. My older sister moved to the east coast to start her life with her fiance. So Its just me and my mom, my mom had to work so I was at home alone cooking with the kids, and as soon as my mom walked in the door I had to leave to go to work. Holidays aren't the same without the WHOLE Family together, so I was a little depressed.... and I was at work which didn't help.
Yea yea I know I'm complaining about how depressed I was on a holiday that I'm supposed to be thankful right?! Well wrong... Im thankful for everything I have Had, everything  I Have And everything that I am going to receive, just as well as everything  I've given. But holidays should be spent with your family and mine wasn't. :(
BUT We made the best of it and on my 45 minute lunch break I drove home to eat dinner with my mom and my kids. :)

On a lighter note earlier that day i promised Nellie and Nick I would make Cake pops for them.  So i did. Mind you I have never made them before...I do not own any cake pop pans either so this was a task.
Nellie is my little helper, she wants to help with everything, so i let her mix the cake mix. :)
This is how they turned out, a little on the lumpy side LOL but its good for my first try. The whole decorating part was interesting. I didnt have a wide variety of sprinkles and I did not want to go the store (on Thanksgiving??...no thanks, Ill save my self the headache)

The important part... The kids liked them.
she likes to savor her food....

He ate his so fast I didn't have time to blink :)

He says that's his best friend, and he couldn't wait to eat his "friend" hehe

I can always find a positive out of a negative when it comes to those little faces. I'm grateful that I've been blessed with such amazing children. And to be able to spend these moments with them while they are still young and so curious....
Don't just be Thankful On thanksgiving..be Thankful everyday! <3

How was your thanksgiving??

Until next time...

While Big brother is at School... take 1

My 2 year old Nellie is such a character. While her Big brother is at preschool me and her just hang out, she helps me cook breakfast, clean ...i think shes going on 25 instead of 3. I love that she is my little helper, i guess I better enjoy it while she is young, because when she gets older it'll be so horrible for her to do any of those things (teenagers) lol

Anywhoo i walked into my room and found her in my closet. She Loves to play in my shoes, First i saw her looking through the hats, then she chose the boots, its interesting that she chose the boots instead of my stilettos because she usually grabs those first.
She is such a crack up, She likes to dress herself, and i like seeing what she puts together. I asked her if i could take a picture and she started striking all these poses. :)

Funny thing is she used to highly dislike taking pictures... you couldn't tell now.

I know if she could reach my clothes in my closet, she would be playing in those too :)

Yep im convinced she's going on 25. lol

My independent little princess.

Do your children play in your wardrobe?

Happy monday!

Pretty Copper uhh.... Hand..

I absolutely LOVE jewelry. and you can never go wrong with rings- which i happen to also LOVE. I go into the craft store telling myself I'm getting ONE thing and come out with about 30... yes i know im not the only one :) so I bought some  copper wire from Joann's and didn't know what the heck i was going to make with it (I failed miserably trying to make hoop earrings). I sat at my little sewing area and just started twisting and clipping. and this is what I've come up with...

I am in love with this ring. It sort of looks like a rose.

It is Uber comfortable and wont even slip off. I love that the copper is bendable when your working with it.
but after making this ring i tried to bend it to see if it'll lose it's shape....it doesn't... awesome right?!

When I make more I'll most likely dig out some jewels or glitter so it'll be more "sparkly" who doesnt love sparkles ehh? :)

Let me know what you think.

Until next time...
Stay true to your style :)

Hello all... Welcome :)

I have been wanting to start a blog for a little while now. "I crave Smiles and fabric" blog will be my domain, my place to share my thoughts, ideas,  and  inspirations in life, but most of all a place to connect with fellow mothers who juggle it all. I'm excited to share with you all. hope you enjoy :)
