Gobble Gobble and Cake Pops :)

Thanksgiving was kind of an emotional thing for me this year. I am the youngest of 3 kids. My older brother (the middle child) passed away 5 years ago. My older sister moved to the east coast to start her life with her fiance. So Its just me and my mom, my mom had to work so I was at home alone cooking with the kids, and as soon as my mom walked in the door I had to leave to go to work. Holidays aren't the same without the WHOLE Family together, so I was a little depressed.... and I was at work which didn't help.
Yea yea I know I'm complaining about how depressed I was on a holiday that I'm supposed to be thankful right?! Well wrong... Im thankful for everything I have Had, everything  I Have And everything that I am going to receive, just as well as everything  I've given. But holidays should be spent with your family and mine wasn't. :(
BUT We made the best of it and on my 45 minute lunch break I drove home to eat dinner with my mom and my kids. :)

On a lighter note earlier that day i promised Nellie and Nick I would make Cake pops for them.  So i did. Mind you I have never made them before...I do not own any cake pop pans either so this was a task.
Nellie is my little helper, she wants to help with everything, so i let her mix the cake mix. :)
This is how they turned out, a little on the lumpy side LOL but its good for my first try. The whole decorating part was interesting. I didnt have a wide variety of sprinkles and I did not want to go the store (on Thanksgiving??...no thanks, Ill save my self the headache)

The important part... The kids liked them.
she likes to savor her food....

He ate his so fast I didn't have time to blink :)

He says that's his best friend, and he couldn't wait to eat his "friend" hehe

I can always find a positive out of a negative when it comes to those little faces. I'm grateful that I've been blessed with such amazing children. And to be able to spend these moments with them while they are still young and so curious....
Don't just be Thankful On thanksgiving..be Thankful everyday! <3

How was your thanksgiving??

Until next time...
-Mikki
